Keeping the Team Inspired: Career Development Day

We host our biannual Career Development Day because we understand that happy and inspired employees are such an important part of what makes Modsy a great place to work! Career Development Day is a  staff-wide opportunity for the Modsy community to come together, learn from each other, and invest in personal and professional development.

Considered to be one of the biggest highlights of the year within our company, and a special tradition too, Career Development Day is structured in a series of sessions running over the course of a single day. Each session is hosted virtually to allow our remote staff to participate and connect with speakers across the country—so the entire Modsy team can hear from, and take part in, conversations with company leaders, industry experts, and peers on a wide array of topics all geared to empower, educate, and inspire.

Now What? 7 Things to Do After You Get Your Modsy Designs

So, you’ve got your first round of Modsy designs, but what happens next? Well, your first designs are really just a starting point. Interior design is a process—so, it’s totally normal to review and revise your designs a few times to get things just right! That’s why all of our design packages come with unlimited revisions for 30 days.

There are a number of ways to take the next step in your design journey, and we’re here to guide you through all of your options! So, whether you want to make a few tweaks or are ready to shop, here are 6 ways to continue your design journey and turn your good designs into great ones!

1. Explore Your Designs

A great way to get started once you receive your initial designs? Do some exploring! You can view your redecorated room from every angle, including a bird’s eye view to get a sense of the layout for your space. You’ll also get a 360-degree view, which lets you feel like you’re actually standing in the space!

Explore your designer’s recommendations on furniture and decor in your designs too. You can tap each piece in your designs to get more information—ala the size and material of the piece. And don’t forget to read your designer’s note on your designs, where they explain why they made the choices they did and how that aligns with your personal style.

2. Message Your Designer

Designing your space with Modsy isn’t a one-step process. Our designers expect that you’ll have questions, feedback, and requests. Think of your initial designs as a jumping-off point, and don’t be shy! The goal is to get you a design you love, so the more feedback the better.

When you message your designer through Design Messenger, you can give them the scoop on what you love and what you don’t. You can share additional inspiration through links or images if you’ve found more ideas along the way. And, of course, you can ask them any and all questions about your designs. You can even set up a follow-up video call to chat more and share feedback live!

3. Request a Revision

Whether your requested revision is big or small, we’ll happily make changes to your designs. Revisions are a totally normal part of the process—in fact, 70% of our customers request at least one revision!

Want some insights on what you can ask for? You can ask to…

  • See a different piece of furniture in your space
  • Try out a more vibrant color scheme
  • See a totally new layout option
  • Swap out a rug or chair or light fixture
  • Move wall art to a new location

Simply tap the “request revision” button to get started. You’ll be prompted to answer a few questions to help your designer improve your design. Then, sit back and relax while the magic happens! Your designer may reach back out with any follow-up questions to make sure they totally understand your request.

4. Make Quick Swaps on Your Own

Don’t like that bed frame? Try another! You can browse our entire 3D catalog, searching by brand or price point, and swap new pieces into your designs with just a few clicks. It only takes a few seconds to load new pieces into your design, and you can make as many changes as you like! And don’t worry about making a mess or losing anything from your initial design. Your swaps will be saved as a brand new design, and your original designs will never be altered!

5. Play with Our 3D Editing Tool

If you really want to take charge, test out our exclusive 3D design tool, the 3D Editor. This is our one-of-a-kind, drag-and-drop tool that lets you completely reconfigure your designs—from moving furniture to swapping in new items. This tool is still in beta mode, but you’ll have early access to try it out. So, get creative and try your hand at redesigning your space! And if you need help, your designer can take back the reins and polish up your masterpiece.

6. Rinse and Repeat

We’re serious about delivering you a design you love—so don’t hesitate to ask your designer for more tweaks until your designs are juuust right. We find that most customers ask for the big changes first and then work with their designer to dial in specific pieces. For example, once you land on a layout you love, you can focus on trying out a few sofas until you find the perfect one. Then you can refine your accent furniture and decor selections. Don’t be afraid to go a few rounds with your designer, swap in a few pieces on your own, then ask them to finish things off!

7. Shop Your Design

When you’ve finalized your design, with the layout and pieces you love, you can make that furniture and decor yours in one easy checkout. If you’re on a budget, your designer can help you prioritize which pieces to buy first, help find alternatives, and make sure you’re getting the best deal on all your items.

You’ll be able to shop multiple brands (old stand-bys and new favorites) in one checkout and get access to exclusive discounts. Plus, our dedicated order management team will double-check all your items to ensure you’re getting the best deals, and apply your Modsy-exclusive savings on top! Since big items like furniture can take longer to ship, we’ll keep you posted on the status of all your items and help coordinate any returns or exchanges if needed.

Ultimately, we want the design process with Modsy to be as smooth as possible—and, of course, we want you to land on a design you love! Your Modsy designer and our customer success team are here to help you every step of the way.
