Here’s How the Rooms of Game of Thrones Characters Might Look Today

Like most people, we at Modsy can’t get enough of Game of Thrones. With the series finale just a few weeks away (sob!), how could we resist creating interiors inspired by the series? Spoiler alert: we couldn’t!
Instead of mourning the loss of our Sunday evening excitement, we’ve channeled our emotions in a collection of designs inspired by our favorite Houses and the characters that graced our TV screens over the years. With so many colors, materials, and textures – we’ve got dragon skin, icy swords, floral landscapes, and dreary stone cities – we fell in love with the Seven Kingdoms all over again.
But unlike the fictional locations, we’ve created real (virtual) rooms for all your favorite Game of Thrones characters. These spaces are completely liveable, albeit a bit dramatic, and a sure-fire way to commemorate all the fun we’ve had watching the show.
Keep scrolling to see how The Starks, Lannisters, Targaryens, Tyrells and White Walkers might decorate their homes today.
House Lannister
We wanted to bring in the signature Lannister golds and reds into this spacious King’s Landing-inspired interior. A desk, sitting area, and grand bed frame are all elements fit for a King (or King Slayer).
We imagined the desk might serve as the perfect place for Cersei to write letters, repay debts, and plan how she will murder her enemies with Wildfire. The open sitting area would be ideal for hosting guests and drinking copious amounts of wine (you’re welcome, Tyrion).
Bring the Lannister Style to Your Home
House Targaryen
Although the Targaryen past is far from peaceful, we wanted this room to feel somewhat calming and romantic. After all, Daenerys could probably use a drama-free place to unwind after a long day fighting to rule the Seven Kingdoms.
Her design is inspired both by her early days in Essos as well as her time spent with the Dothraki. The softer, more feminine color palette mixed with eclectic and industrial elements tells her story of rising to the top.
And no room for the Mother of Dragons would be complete without some tasteful dragon-related decor to celebrate her House’s symbol and her three children.

House Stark
For snowy Winterfell, we wanted to create a bedroom retreat fit for a King (or Queen!) and their Direwolf, of course.
The color palette, inspired by House Stark’s colors of grey and white, creates a dark, moody, and almost brooding feel in the space (Jon Snow will feel right at home).
The roaring fire and layered textures ensure this bedroom retreat is still inviting, and we can imagine Sansa curling up by the fire and relaxing after along day. Winter may be coming, but we’ll be keeping warm in this cozy bedroom retreat.
Turn Your Home Into A Winterfell Wonderland
House Tyrell
House Tyrell is known for their beautiful gardens and florals, so we really concentrated on bringing that theme to life in this Game of Thrones interior. We wanted the room to feel dramatic but still welcoming.
You’ll notice that there isn’t a shortage of beautiful fabrics, prints, and textiles. The Tyrells always dressed for the occasion, so we’ve woven in elements from their fashion sense into this space.
And despite the fact that it is covered in florals, the space is bold and reflects the cunning power of the Tyrells, and their memorable female leadership. RIP Lady Olenna!

White Walkers
All white everything, plush fabrics, and steely blue accents. Our White Walker space takes a cue from the Night King, but is less creepy and a touch more cozy.
This Game of Thrones interior is austere and evokes the desolate landscape north of the Wall. The room is meant to feel a bit dramatic with the contrast of deep dark blues and blacks, mixed with pops of white. But the look is still completely accessible to both the living and the dead!
