“So what do you think of what I’ve done with the place?” Frasier Crane asks his father of his new Seattle apartment. “You know, every item here was carefully selected. The lamp by Corbu, this chair by Eames, and this couch is an exact replica of the one Coco Chanel had in her Paris atelier.”

Looking back at Dr. Frasier Crane’s amazing Seattle digs, we have to admit that his tastes in interior design was ahead of his time. He filled his space with modern pieces that blended a minimal aesthetic with contemporary design. As a result, Frasier’s apartment was way ahead of the mid-century modern trend that is so popular today.

With rumblings about a Frasier reboot underway, and the 25th anniversary of the show’s premiere just around the corner, we couldn’t resist imagining what his iconic apartment might look like today. Just like the apartment from Friends, Carrie Bradshaw’s NYC pad, and even the Golden Girls’ Miami beach house, keep scrolling to see how we styled Frasier’s apartment in Modsy 3D.

Frasier’s Apartment, Redesigned for 2018

For this 2018 take on a tv show interior we all know and love, we wanted to depict Frasier’s apartment as it might have been a good many years after the show’s finale. We imagined Frasier’s career would have remained steady over time and he would have kept his bachelor pad overlooking over the Seattle skyline.

Frasier’s style in 2018 is really no different than his style in the early 90’s. Always a collector of quirky objects and iconic furniture, Frasier’s apartment is familiar but a bit more refined.

Preserving Frasier’s iconic style was a very important part of redesigning his space for 2018. Many of the original elements remain, like the beautiful woodwork inlay.

A few key updates we’ve made to the bones of his apartment reflect Frasier’s masculine-eclectic taste, but translate it for today. Terrazzo replaces the concrete tiles on the facade of his statement fireplace. Additionally, black marble replaces the original carpet, which gives the space a subtle edge and dramatic elegance.

We made Frasier’s beloved Wassily chair a core part of the living room. In loving memory of Marty we included a Milo Baughman recliner from Design Within Reach that we think Frasier would have selected to stand in place of his father’s trusted, duck-taped armchair. Near the windows we kept Frasier’s iconic Eames lounge, as it’s a classic staple of comfortable, minimal style.

A few of his new favorite pieces would be this sculptural Perigold coffee table that calls upon the whimsey of the original living room centerpiece, and bold art prints from Natural Curiosities.
